A:
(1) After finishing the course selection, students need to login again to double-check the course selection lists, especially the case of appearing the disordered numbers when they login, which may display “no course selected” on the screen.
(2) After finishing the course selection, students need to read at least once the public notice of “course change information” so that there won’t be any case of repeating course selection on the same period caused by the course changes. We suggest students to read the public notice before the end of the second course selection.
Note: Students can check if there are any course changes through the course checking system. We suggest students to do this through the Internet Explorer.

The regulations on the credit taking:
The minimum credit each semester for undergraduates of the first three years is 15; that for seniors is 9. The maximum credit each semester for undergraduates is 25; for students studying for the fifth year, they should take at least one course each semester.
The credit minimum and maximum of graduate students are regulated by each department/institute.
A:
According to Article 15 of NUK Academic Regulations, the maximum credit each semester for undergraduates is 25. Students who meet any of the requirements are allowed to apply for over-taking credits after obtaining the approval of the chairpersons of their departments:

2. Being approved of taking minor or double major and do not give up.
3. Transferred to the department to study for less than one academic year.
4. Exchange students who come back from foreign countries within one year.
Students studying within their extended term of study are not allowed to apply for over-taking credits unless they meet the second or the fourth paragraph of this Article and obtain he approval of the chairpersons of their departments.

No. There are three stages of the course selection: the first stage, the second stage, and the add/drop stage. In the first and second stages, students take 3 general courses (6 credits) at most. But it doesn’t mean students take 3 general courses (6 credits) at most in a semester. Students can take as many as courses under the regulations for the credit-taking.
A:
Yes. Students still need to select Service Learning courses and PE courses; otherwise, they will be regarded as not taking these courses.

Students can ask the course instructors if he/she can allow them to add in. If the course instructors agree, please pay attention to the things stated as follows:
(1) The course instructors can assign students to add in within the period of the course selection, the number of the course-taking students not outnumbering the seats in the classroom,
(2) Students need to re-select the courses to confirm the final result of the course selection. If not, students will be regarded as not taking these courses. If the courses can not be added in, please check with the course instructors to make sure they have included the names of these students in their add-in the name lists.
(3) If there are anything wrong with the above two situations, students can ask their departments for help on the courses offered by the department teachers, or ask the General Education Center for help on the courses offered by the part-time general course teachers.
A:
The general course “English” for freshmen is always set at a fixed period in class schedules, so there should not be any case of clashing with other courses in principle. However, should there be such a case to happen, students can report the case to their departments and ask them to change the schedule of the required course, or they can report to General Education Center to apply to transfer to other classes of the course “English.”
A:
For such cases, please contact General Education Center.

A:
(1) Those courses taken can be considered in the course exemption. Yet, the course exemption for courses offered by General Education Center (not including Freshmen English) is conducted by the principle that professional courses can not be exempted for general courses.
(2) First, divide the courses to be exempted into two types: those courses to be exempted for the department-required and department-elective courses at NUK, and those courses to be exempted for general courses at NUK. For example, if the courses of Chinese, those of English, or those required courses in students’ original universities can not be exempted for the department-required and department-elective courses at NUK, they may be exempted for general courses at NUK. Yet the course exemption is reviewed and determined by General Education Center.
(3) The exemption for professional courses (the department-required and department-elective courses) are reviewed and determined by the chair person of each department. The exemption for general courses is reviewed and determined by General Education Center. Please call (07)5919000 ext. 8281/8282/8283/8284 for more information.
